School Activities...

Owners Tom and Linda Kimbrell have decades of experience in outdoor education and designed Casa Cayuco to serve the needs of experiential learning. From their more formal studies to daily living as a community, students will engage in learning all day long.

School Activities...

Opportunites abound for community service projects in local indigenous villages. Previously, student groups at Casa Cayuco have been involved in helping in the local school, teaching English to villagers, constructing a community house, and other building work. Community service projects and related activities offer all participants a valuable cross-cultural exchange.

School Activities...

Casa Cayuco is the ideal spot for students to study marine biology and rainforest ecology. We have excellent facilities for groups. The lodge building is comfortable, with an open air dining area downstairs and 2 guest bedrooms upstairs. The bedrooms are up at the level of the forest canopy — to see the bird life and catch the gentle ocean breezes. A few larger cabins round out our accommodations. We have space for group meetings in the dining area or on the palapa-covered dock.

School Activities...

Beyond their studies, students will have the opportunity for some outdoor adventures. We have single and double "sit-on-top" sea kayaks for exploring the surrounding ocean, islands, mangroves, and rivers. We also offer surfing, sailing, snorkeling, and hiking. We can arrange SCUBA trips nearby and mountain bike trips, volcano hikes, and whitewater rafting on the mainland.

The learning opportunities in Panama are boundless: from Spanish-language study to local history of the banana plantations, watershed deforestation issues around the Panama Canal to mangrove research, volcano studies to tropical marine research. Panama has it all, and Casa Cayuco can provide your group with the facility and logistical support to accomplish your group's goals.
