We have a dozen Ocean Kayaks, of the "sit-on-top" variety, for our ocean and river explorations. We sea kayak around the nearby mangroves, over the coral reefs in the bay, and to the National Park at Islas Zapatillas. We also load the kayaks on our boat and take them farther afield to explore the islets and caves of Los Tigres and Escudo Veraguas. The boats are perfect for river adventures as well. Paddle up to the village Salt Creek, or down the class 1-2+ rapids of the remote Rio Guarumo or Rio Robalo. If you prefer the action of class 4-5 whitewater, we can help you arrange rafting trips on the Chiriqui with a mainland rafting company.

Beautiful coral reefs for snorkeling sit just off our beaches. And we are minutes from the Zapatillas, a National Park. We also take boat trips to snorkel in Dolphin Bay, Los Tigres, and Escudo Veraguas. Additionally, we can also help you arrange scuba trips with a local dive shop in town.

If surfing is your interest, there are numerous breaks around the Bocas. Playa Paunch, Playa Bluff, and Dumpers are some of the favorite local spots. Carenero, Bastimentos, the Zapatillos, and Cayo Agua have good surf as well. The best time to surf is December through March.

Locals often catch the wind in a homemade sail with their Cayucos. We have a 15' Hobie Cat catamaran for those who like sailing.

The rain forest is a beautiful place for hiking and birding. You often encounter tiny red frogs, white faced monkeys, countless birds and small lizards. Footpaths parallel the water on both sides of the island and lead up to the village of Salt Creek and down to Long Beach, an important turtle nesting site.

Of course if you want to relax on the beach and soak up the sun, there is plenty of time for that. Any day is good for swimming from the Casa Cayuco beach and dock. And at the times of the year when the swell is down, there is endless beach front and swimming on the ocean side of the peninsula as well.
