Founders

Casa Cayuco has been a dream for owners Tom and Linda Kimbrell since they were cruising the Pacific on their sailboat. They lived in Costa Rica with their young daughter for two years. When they returned to the United States, they knew that they wanted to create a tropical retreat for adventure minded folks. For years they searched in Central America and the Caribbean to find the best spot. The picturesque beachfront site on Isla Bastimentos captured their imagination and Casa Cayuco was born.
Tom and Linda have dedicated their lives to adventure and education. For 25 years, Tom worked as a professional guide, leading clients on trips in some of the world’s most exotic mountain and ocean locales. Tom has a degree in Geology and holds his USCG Masters license and STCW. He has been an EMT, held a PADI SCUBA Instructor certification, and has worked for several Outward Bound schools as an Instructor and a Program Director.
Linda is a professional educator and has taught in public and private schools for 20 years. With a degree in Environmental Studies and years of experience in outdoor education, she enjoys guiding people in beautiful areas of the world. She has led numerous trips for students, both nationally and internationally.
